Strasburg Train Depot
The Strasburg Museum building became a railroad depot in 1913. The railway had been first used for pottery, but changed over time to be used to carry people and move other cargo. The depot was named the Strasburg Virginia Railroad Station; it connected to the Manassas Gap and Baltimore and Ohio Railroads. Many workers were part of the Strasburg Virginia Railroad Station listing from 1854 to 1996 (Sonner, 2016). Since being opened as a museum, the Strasburg Museum has “a sign and a marker for 'Stonewall' Jackson’s Great Train Raid of 1861” (Hawks, 2023).
